SENATOR BOSCOLA TO HOST
FREE FLU VACCINE CLINIC IN NORTHAMPTON
COUNTY
BETHLEHEM
(DEC 11) –
State Senator Lisa M.
Boscola is proud to announce that she
will be hosting a free flu shot clinic
in Northampton County. The clinic,
which is in collaboration with Lehigh
Valley Hospital, will be held on Monday,
December 15, 2008 at the Lookout Fire
Company from 10 a.m.-2pm.
“Getting a flu shot is one
step to protect yourself from the
numerous health complications related to
the flu,” Boscola said. “Those at the
highest risk during flu season are our
seniors and those with lung disease or
impaired immune systems.”
This clinic
was organized in order to provide a free
and convenient way for the residents of
Northampton County to take precautions
to help keep themselves healthy this
winter. There are no restrictions on
who can receive the flu vaccine at this
clinic, all are welcome.

“I urge
citizens to take advantage of this
opportunity to get a free flu shot and
would also like to thank Lehigh Valley
Hospital for collaborating with me to
make this event a reality,” Boscola
added.
In addition to
administering the flu vaccinations,
Lehigh Valley Hospital will be providing
Balance Screenings for all Senior
Citizens.
Each year, one-third to one-half of the
population age 65 and over experience
falls. Moreover, half of the elderly
people who experience falls do so
repeatedly. Falls are the leading cause
of injury in older adults. Deterioration
of balance is a major cause for falls.
Balance screenings can be helpful to
determine risk factors for falling.
