Policy Hearing with Front Line Workers

April 28, 2020 | 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 

As Chair of the Senator Democratic Policy Committee, I am proud to host, in conjunction with Senator Lindsey M. Williams and Senator Pam Iovino, a hearing in recognition of Workers Memorial Day: A Policy Hearing with Front-Line Essential Workers on Workers Memorial Day, which is the annual day of remembrance for workers killed or injured on the job and a day for renewing the fight for strong safety and health protections for all workers.

This hearing will provide valuable insight into the unique issues and problems facing front-line essentials during this pandemic.  From nurses to grocery store clerks, this hearing will provide a voice and a forum for these heroic workers.

Unemployment Update

The unemployment compensation teams are working to get you the answers and info you need. Many of your questions may be answered on their website.

✅ PUA System has been corrected. For individuals who believe they inaccurately received the PUA ineligibility message, please try filing for PUA again at

⚠️ Applications will be effective the week you were first unemployed and is not based on the day you submit your PUA application.

❌ If you still receive the ineligibility message, then you may be eligible for regular unemployment compensation and are appropriately receiving this message that you are not eligible to apply for PUA at this time. Please file a regular Unemployment initial claim online HERE.
