Bethlehem, February 24, 2025 – – State Senator Lisa Boscola announced today that $1,713,257 in state funding has been approved for four projects in the 18th District through the Multimodal Transportation Fund Program (MTF).           

“State investment in these multimodal projects will allow these critically needed roadway improvements and pedestrian safety enhancements to move forward.” Boscola stated.  “I am particularly pleased that $1 million in state funding was approved to assist Forks Township in their efforts to repair extensive damage to Frutchey Hill Road caused by the flooding of July 2023.  Working with my legislative colleagues of both parties and both chambers made bringing this funding back to Northampton County a reality.”

The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) approved the following Lehigh Valley projects:

  • City of Bethlehem, Northside Alive Streetscape Development: $250,000
  • Forks Township, Frutchey Hill Road Repair Project Phase 2: $1,000,000
  • PD Hellertown, LLC, Hellertown Main Street and I-78 Interchange Improvements: $300,000
  • Skyline Investment Group Easton, LLC, Dixie Cup Regional Pedestrian and Bicycle Trail Connector: $163,257

Funding for the projects were approved Monday by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.  The Multimodal Transportation Fund was created as part of Act 89 to promote economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available throughout the Commonwealth.
