Bethlehem, July 14, 2020 − State Sen. Lisa Boscola today announced state funding totaling $2,557,958 for two alternative and clean energy projects in the Lehigh Valley.
“I’m pleased to announce the approval of these state funds allocated to help expedite important projects that will improve the quality of life and enhance our environment,” Boscola said. “I will continue to seek state funding and resources for local efforts aimed at making the Lehigh Valley more energy efficient.”
Boscola said she was pleased to work with her colleagues in Harrisburg to secure the state funds, approved by the Commonwealth Finance Authority (CFA), for investment in the following projects through the Alternative and Clean Energy (ACE) Program:
- Easton Area Joint Sewer Authority ($1,737,000-Alternative Energy Production) for the construction of a biogas cogeneration system at its wastewater treatment plant in Easton;
- Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority ($820,958-High Performance Building) for the construction of a high-performance building as part of its renovation project to move its TSA checkpoint to a new location at the Lehigh Valley International Airport in Hanover Township, Lehigh County;
The Alternative and Clean Energy Program provides financial assistance that can be used for the utilization, development and construction of alternative and clean energy projects in the Commonwealth. The grants were approved today by the state Commonwealth Financing Authority Board in Harrisburg.
