Bethlehem, July 22, 2020 − State Sen. Lisa Boscola today announced a $618,229 low-interest loan for North Catasauqua Borough for a stormwater improvement project.

“This PENNVEST loan will enable North Catasauqua to expedite work on this important stormwater mitigation project,” Boscola said. “This is another example of the state partnering with a local government to assist with an important municipal project.  It was a pleasure working with local officials to secure state dollars for this work.”

Boscola said the project calls for installing 5,010 feet of storm sewers and 69 new inlets. It will provide the Northampton County Borough with additional capacity to help alleviate flooding during storms.

The PENNVEST board approved the project today. The loan ranges from 1 percent to 1.7 percent. Established in 1988, PENNVEST provides funding for sewer, storm water and drinking water projects.

“I’m pleased that funding was approved for this project,” Boscola said. “I will continue working with municipal leaders to help secure state support for local projects.”
