BETHLEHEM (June 12, 2025) – State Senator Lisa M. Boscola announced that the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) has approved three grants totaling $338,100 to the Wilson Area LINCS Family Center and to the County of Lehigh.
“These grant awards will have a positive impact on our region through programs directed at our youth and programs aiding Lehigh County in the administration of its criminal justice system,” Senator Boscola stated. “I am particular pleased that the Wilson Area LINCS Family Center will be receiving a $264,700 grant to allow them to continue their critical work, which has already made a tremendous impact, with the children and families of the Wilson Area School District.”
“The Wilson Area Communities That Care Coalition is able to continue to serve the community for another two years thanks to the SAEDR grant,” said Trina Johnson-Brady, Director and Community Mobilizer of the coalition and LINCS Family Center. “In addition to funding the mobilizer that provides direction, the grant offers the resources to implement evidence-based programming to offset risk factors that lead to problem youth behaviors. Given the 59 percent rise in poverty in the Wilson Area School District since 2019, a long-term solution to prevent substance use and violence is needed now more than ever.”
“This award of SAEDR funds to continue the work of the Wilson Area Communities That Care Coalition is both a testament to the institutional relationships built over the past several years and a validation of the tireless work of Trina Johnson-Brady to advance pro-social outcomes for our area’s youth,” said Armando Moritz-Chapelliquen, a Wilson Borough parent. “There is still a lot to be done, but building on the foundation we’ve laid means we can continue to foster a community that cares in Wilson Area School District.”
