Boscola Announces over $4.6 Million in State Grants for Lehigh Valley Projects

BETHLEHEM − December 18, 2025 − State Senator Lisa Boscola today announced state funding totaling $4,658,427 for projects in the 18th Senatorial District through the Local Share Account (LSA) Statewide and Act 13 Grant programs.

“I have fought hard to make sure our local communities get their fair share of statewide dollars to complete priority projects,” Boscola said. “These projects have been identified by local government leaders as important to improving the quality of life in their communities through funding for public safety, community development and recreation projects,” Boscola added.

Boscola said she was pleased to work with her colleagues in the Lehigh Valley legislative delegation in a bipartisan manner to secure the state funds, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), for investment in the following projects:

Statewide Local Share Account (LSA)

  • Bethlehem Township – $233,021 – Ambulance Remounting Project;
  • Bethlehem Township – $75,699 – Firefighter Radios for the Nancy Run Fire Department;
  • Bethlehem Township – $93,423 – Purchase of Police Patrol Car;
  • Bethlehem Township – $118,041 – Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company Radio Equipment;
  • East Bangor Borough – $86,000 – East Bangor Surveillance Camera Program;
  • Easton City – $150,000 – Easton Police Department Evidence Building;
  • Easton City – $375,568 – Larry Holmes Drive Pedestrian Safety Improvements (Phase 1);
  • Forks Township – $275,000 – Sewer Department Camera Truck;
  • Freemansburg Borough – $250,000 – Municipal Community Cultural Center (Phase 3);
  • Greater Easton Development Corporation – $125,000 – Easton Event Infrastructure;
  • Hellertown Borough – $300,000 – Tuminello Park Pedestrian Bridge;
  • Hellertown Borough Authority – $100,000 – Solar Garage;
  • Hellertown Borough Authority – $50,000 – Utility Vehicle;
  • Lower Mount Bethel Township – $135,000 – Roadside Tractor and Boom Mower;
  • Lower Nazareth Township – $86,878 – Colonial Regional Police Vehicle;
  • Nazareth Borough – $50,000 – Public Works Vehicle;
  • Northampton County – $475,000 – New Bethany Building Expansion;
  • Palmer Township – $250,000 – Bicycle Path Rehabilitation;
  • Palmer Township – $150,000 – Suburban EMS Stryker Xpedition Powered Stair Chair Purchases;
  • Slate Belt Council of Governments – $49,000 – Light Tower with Generator Purchase;
  • Upper Mount Bethel Township – $100,000 – North Bangor Fire Company Garage Expansion Project;
  • Upper Nazareth Township – $138,000 – Public Works Bucket Truck;
  • Upper Nazareth Township – $744,097 – UNT Radios;
  • West Easton Borough – $100,000 – Dump Truck.

Act 13 Programs

  • Wind Gap Borough – $130,000 – Wind Gap Park Pavilion;
  • Nazareth Borough – $18,700 – Planning for Black Rock Trails.

Grants were approved today by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. The Local Share Account Programs were created through the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71), which provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Funding through the Marcellus Legacy Fund uses revenue generated through Act 13 of 2012 that imposes an impact fee on the state’s unconventional natural gas wells.
