Bethlehem, PA – February 7, 2023- State Senator Lisa M. Boscola released the following statement today regarding the Commonwealth Court decision on School Funding re: William Penn School District et. al v. PA Dept. of Ed et. al:
“I am pleased that the Commonwealth Court sees the inequities in our current school funding system. Hopefully, this decision will spur the General Assembly to move away from local school property taxes and towards a fairer funding mechanism that fully utilizes our fair funding formula. A child’s zip code should not determine the quality of their education.”
