Bethlehem, PA – January 16, 2020 – State Senator Lisa M. Boscola announced today that Lehigh University was awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education a $29,725 grant through the “It’s On Us” initiative, whose goal is to raise awareness of and combat sexual assault on college campuses across the nation.

“I’m pleased to announce state funds will be used by Lehigh University to further its own “It’s On Us” program goals, which include providing customized sexual assault prevention programming for students,” Boscola said. “Lehigh University has been involved in the It’s On Us campaign with a focus on prevention and this funding will assist them in developing additional primary prevention programs.”

The It’s On Us campaign is a national initiative initially championed by President Barack Obama. 36 postsecondary institutions, including Lehigh University, were awarded grants today totaling $981,159, which brings the Commonwealth total investment for “It’s On Us” to nearly $4 million in the last four years.

Statewide grant awards were announced today in Harrisburg by Secretary of Education Pedro A. Rivera.
