BETHLEHEM (March 8, 2023) – State Senator Lisa M. Boscola announced today that the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) awarded $1,004,601 in grant funding throughout the Lehigh Valley for local law enforcement county criminal justice programs.
“It is absolutely critical that we as a Commonwealth provide local law enforcement with the tools necessary to serve our citizens and keep our communities safe and the Local Law Enforcement Support Grants will assist in that effort,” Senator Boscola stated. “Additionally, funds through the Federal State Opioid Response Grant program will aid Northampton and Lehigh County in their efforts to better equip prison reentrants as they return to their communities.”
The following grants were approved today by PCCD:
Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program
- Colonial Regional Police Department: Records management system upgrade; body-worn cameras; in car cameras. $146,998
- Bethlehem Township: Records management system upgrade. $57,050
- Roseto Borough: upgraded radios; bicycle. $20,553
Federal/State Opioid Response Funds
- Lehigh County: Lehigh County MAT Program. $500,000
- Northampton County: Prison MAT Expansion $280,000
