BETHLEHEM, February 25, 2019 − State Senator Lisa Boscola announced today that the City of Easton and the Community Action Development Corporation have been awarded grants totaling $55,000 through the Keystone Communities Program.
“Partnering with our local governments and non-profits to fund their priority projects helps strengthen our communities and our neighborhoods,” Boscola stated. “The Keystone Communities Program does a tremendous job making investments throughout Pennsylvania that improve our quality of life and foster economic growth.”
The City of Easton was awarded $25,000 to develop a comprehensive, city-wide economic development strategy that will enable the city to build on its successes in attracting investment, increasing its tax base, and lowering its crime rate.
The Community Action Development Corporation was awarded $30,000 for improvements to Friendship Park located in the City of Bethlehem, which include new ADA-compliant playground equipment, trash receptacles, benches, and tables.
