Bethlehem, December 6, 2021 – State Senators Lisa Boscola and Pat Browne today announced $3,500,000 in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) funding for the South 3rd St Parking Garage project in the City of Easton.  Peron Development will be constructing a parking garage as part of redevelopment project at old Days Inn site at 185 S. 3rd Street.

“This state investment will aid greatly in the redevelopment of the former Days Inn site in downtown Easton into The Confluence, which will be a mixed-use development that will have a tremendous economic impact in Easton,” Boscola stated. “As for any project of this size in a downtown, parking is critical to making a project viable. I was proud to work with Senator Browne to make this state investment that will benefit our Lehigh Valley region possible.”

“Like the Lehigh Valley as a whole, Easton continues to experience growth of its local economy,” Senator Pat Browne said. “Parking is often an overlooked critical infrastructure that helps to support residents and local business, helping to facilitate the transformation of local communities and neighborhoods.”

“This is an iconic development for Easton and transforms this once underutilized parcel into a development that will add residents and jobs as well as increases the city tax base,” stated Easton Mayor Sal Panto.

Peron Development purchased the property from the City of Easton on June 25, 2021.  The Confluence will be a mixed-use development including retail space, entertainment, apartments, and artist studios.  The state funds will be used for the onsite parking needs including approximately 200 basement spaces, which while located in the flood plain will be designed so that water flows around it rather than into it.
